However, the main attraction of this tour is the visit to the Church of the Saviour on the spilt blood which commemorates the tragic event of 1 March 1881 when a terrorist bombed the area and killed the Tsar, Alexander II.
The Cathedral was built in honour of the Tsar on the place of assassination by architect Parland. It imitates Russian architecture from the nineteenth century making it one of the most exquisite, historic and cultural areas of the city.
