The Two: St. Isaacs & Church of the Saviour (by car)
Why choose, when you can enjoy both
Immerse yourself in the religious culture of Russia with these two incredible Cathedrals in St. Petersburg. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to take photos on your way to the first stop which is St. Isaac’s Cathedral.
Its dome dominates the skyline of St. Petersburg as the fourth largest in the world and its gilded cupola can be seen glistening from all over the city.
Climb the 300 steps to the observation walkway at the base of the dome to enjoy the most breath-taking views of the city as you get a perfect panoramic view of all of the most amazing sights.
Your next Cathedral is the Church of the Saviour on the Spilt Blood which is steeped in regal history as the site where a terrorist bombed and killed the Tsar, Alexander II on 1 march 1881. Erected in place of the site by Parland, the Cathedral imitates Russian architecture from the nineteenth century making it one of the most stunning churches in the city.
