Immerse yourself in the Buryat-Mongolian traditions
Your excursion begins when you tour guide meets you at the agreed destination. By private transportation, you will journey 50km on the outskirts of Ulan-Ude to one of the oldest Buryat settlement in the region, located near the breath-taking valley of the Uda River.
Your day starts off with a visit to the Atsagatsky Datsan (Buddhist temple), renowned for being the home of some of the world’s noted lamas. After you’ve had the chance to become acquainted with the monastery and the history of Buddhism in Ulan-Ude, your adventure continues at a local museum containing traces of the region’s history, and remnants of the Buryat’s long-standing traditions. There you can find the copies of Tibetan atlas pages and mantra books written in 17-18th Centuries.
Optionally you can visit a local family where you will be introduced to the buryat lifestyle, traditional games and taste dishes of local cuisine. After this glimpse into local life you will conclude your tour and embark on the journey back to the city.
