This tour will give you a real taste of the Chinese culture and traditions as you explore old Beijing on a local tour, which includes visits to the local areas where you will meet they locals as they go about their lives, visit Prince Gong’s Palace and Drum Tower or Bell Tower.
You’ll get to see how the local community live as well as seeing families as they go around their day-to-day lives to truly experience what it’s like to live in China.
Then you’ll visit Prince Gong’s Palace which is Beijing’s largest and best preserved princely mansion from the Qing Dynasty, located at Qianhai Xijie to the north of Shichahai.
It’s an incredible piece of Chinese architecture with so much history and culture within so you can not only admire the aesthetics of such a stunning building but also immerse yourself in the details of its amazing history and culture.
This tour also takes you to the Drum Tower or Bell Tower which is a two-storied arched wooden structure which once held 25 drums. They were used, along with a bell, to indicate the time of day and you’ll get to see the only remaining drum which still beats four times a day for 15 minutes.
