Destinations Map

Day 1 - Arrival in Beijing

Forbidden CityYour tour starts in Beijing, where your transfer will be waiting for you at the airport, or train station, to take you to your accommodation.

Day 2 - Beijing Excursion Day

BeijingYou will have a full day city tour introducing you to the main sites of Beijing, including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven as well as the Pearl and Silk markets.

Day 3 - Depart Beijing

Beijing TrainPack, and prepare to check-out, then make the most of what Beijing has to offer on your final day in the city before you are provided with a transfer to the railway station, where our guide will advise, and assist, in purchasing provisions for the train if desired, accompany you to the platform, ensure that everyone is settled into their cabins and answer any last minute questions.

Day 4 - Arrival in Ulan-Bator and Gorkhi Terelj National Park Excursion

Ural mountainsAfter your arrival you will be taken to your accommodation to freshen up and have breakfast, before being set free to visit the world famous Gorkhi Terelj National Park. Lunch will then be served at a local Ger camp, followed by walking in the hills, with an excursion to Turtle Rock and a meditation centre before returning to the Ger camp for an evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 5 - Mongolian Steppe Excursion

Mongolian SteppeBreakfast is followed by free time to explore, and enjoy, the local area and relax. You will have the opportunity to visit a local herdsman’s family to see the fascinating daily life of Mongolia's nomads.

Day 6 - Ulan-Bator Excursion

Trans-Siberian Train TracksA fascinating full day tour including visits to the Gandan Buddhist Monastery, the national history museum and Zaisan Hill, ending with a traditional meal and Mongolian folk music with dance

Day 7 - Free Day in Ulan-Bator

Lake BaikalBreakfast is followed by free time to investigate the distinctive charm of Ulan-Bator and the surrounding region, or relax. Why not take a look at a few of the excursions you could arrange while there?

Day 8 - Free Day in Ulan-Bator

Ulan BatorBreakfast is followed by free time to investigate the distinctive charm of Ulan-Bator and the surrounding region, or relax. Why not take a look at a few of the excursions you could arrange while there?

Day 9 - Free Day and Departing Ulan-Bator

Ger CampAfter spending most of the day free to explore Ulan-Bator, you will catch the train to continue your journey along the Trans-Mongolian railway.

Day 10 - Venturing into Siberia

North ChinaThrough the seemingly limitless tracks and incredible forests of Siberia (the largest forest in the world), you will be passing through the mighty Altai region, crossing the River Yenisei at Krasnoyarsk.

Day 11 - Heading into Eurasia

Ulan BatorAfter passing through Novosibirsk, the largest city in Siberia, the train will head for the historic Yekaterinburg and the Ural Mountains, crossing the border between Asia and Europe, around 1,000 miles east of Moscow.

Day 12 - European Russia

Gobi DesertSpending the day on the train, you will head past the ex-military city of Perm, the great industrial city of Kirov, and the beautiful cities of the Golden Ring.

Day 13 - Arrive in Moscow

St BasilsAt the end of this day you will reach your destination, the Russian Capital of Moscow, where your transfer will be waiting to pick you up.
