Day 1 - Arrival in Beijing

Great Wall of ChinaYour tour starts in Beijing, where your transfer will be waiting for you at the airport, or train station, to take you to your accommodation.

Day 2 - Free Day in Beijing

St BasilsYou have the freedom to explore, and experience, the majesty of the Chinese capital at your leisure.

Day 3 - Depart Beijing

KremlinPack, and prepare to check-out, then make the most of what Beijing has to offer on your final day in the city before you are provided with a transfer to the railway station, where our guide will advise, and assist, in purchasing provisions for the train if desired, accompany you to the platform, ensure that everyone is settled into their cabins and answer any last minute questions.

Day 4 - Northern China

Trans-SiberianYour first full day on the train will be spent travelling, past the industrial cities, vast factories and tiny rural villages, with ancient paddy fields, of Northern China.

Day 5 - Chinese Border

TrainAfter a brief stop at the Chinese border, where the trains 'bogies' will be changed, you will continue on to Zabaykalsk, before heading off for Siberia and, eventually, Moscow.

Day 6 - Arrival in Irkutsk

Irkutsk StationFollowing your arrival in Irkutsk, you will be taken to your accommodation. You have will then have a full day to explore, and experience, the city.

Day 7 - Free Day in Irkutsk

Lake BaikalToday is left free to relax, explore, experience, shop or book one of our many optional excursions.

Day 8 - Free Day in Irkutsk

IrkutskToday is left free to relax, explore, experience, shop or book one of our many optional excursions.

Day 9 - Depart Irkutsk

ChinaThere will be a transfer from the hotel to the railway station to catch your train for the next leg of your Trans–Siberian journey, on through Siberia and on to Moscow.

Day 10 - Venturing into Siberia

People on trainThrough the seemingly limitless tracks and incredible forests of Siberia (the largest forest in the world), you will be passing through the mighty Altai region, crossing the River Yenisei at Krasnoyarsk.

Day 11 - Heading into Eurasia

Ulan BatorAfter passing through Novosibirsk, the largest city in Siberia, the train will head for the historic Yekaterinburg and the Ural Mountains, crossing the border between Asia and Europe, around 1,000 miles east of Moscow.

Day 12 - European Russia

Gobi DesertSpending the day on the train, you will head past the ex-military city of Perm, the great industrial city of Kirov, and the beautiful cities of the Golden Ring.

Day 13 - Arrive in Moscow

St BasilsAt the end of this day you will reach your destination, the Russian Capital of Moscow, where your transfer will be waiting to pick you up.

Your tour starts in the ancient city of Beijing. On route to Moscow enjoy the ever changing scenery as you travel past the Great Wall, northwards through the ancient paddy fields and the modern city of Harbin, towards Russia and the vast expanse that is Siberia. Entering Siberia you will pass the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Baikal, before moving westward through the vast steppes and forests of Eurasia, passing the Ural Mountains into European Russia before finally arriving in Moscow. With our trusted 2* or home-stay accommodation and arranged transfers to and from train stations, you are free to explore as you wish.
