Russian Visa Application Process

Established for over 10 years, Real Russia is one of the UK’s leading agencies for visa management and travel services to Russia and surrounding region. Their dedicated team of visa experts processes tens of thousands of applications a year, have direct relations with the consulates in the UK and the Russian authorities in Moscow. They will provide a professional, cost effective and reliable service to ensure that your visa is processed correctly and on time.

This webpage will guide you through our simplified visa application process which has been set up specifically for players, their caddies, family members and friends as well as for European Senior Tour and European Tour Productions staff travelling to the tournament in Moscow in September.

Before you start, the first and most important step is to ensure that you have a passport which is signed, undamaged, has got at least two blank pages (with no stamps or marks) and is valid until at least 15 March 2015.

A. APPLYING FOR YOUR RUSSIAN VISA IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Real Russia have successfully negotiated a simplified proccess with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow PGA players, caddies and staff to apply for their visa in the UK regardless of their nationality, country of residency, at reduced costs, quicker timescales and with a minimum of documents required.

Under this simplified process applicants will be issued with a "humanitarian" visa with purpose of visit "sport".

To allow us to start processing your visa we need:

  1. A clear scanned copy of your passport photo page
  2. The country and the city where your visa will be obtained

If you have not already provided this information to the European Senior Tour, then please email it now to visas@realrussia.co.uk with subject “PGA Russian Senior Open 2014 - Visa information for [your full name] - [player/ caddy..]”. Please mention which consulate (country, city) you will apply for your visa at and attach a copy of your passport, if still required.

Once you've done that please read point 3.

Please note that after the details of where you will obtain your visa will be submitted to the Russian authorities, your invitation will be sent to your selected consulate so you will not be able to apply elsewhere. Your invitation will be issued based on the passport details that you provide us a copy of. For this reason, you must apply for your visa using this passport.

A. Tourist visa

Under normal circumstances, family and friends should apply for "tourist" visa. However, the simplified application procedure does not apply to these visas and applicants would need to comply with the standard consulate requirements.

To see if you are entitled to apply in the UK, what documents you would need to provide, the costs and timescales, please select your nationality from the options below.

Once you've done that please read point 3.

B. "Sport" visa

If you are either not entitled to apply for your visa in the UK or have other restrictions, you can avoid these by applying for a "humanitarian visa" with purpose of visit "sport". Please bear in mind though that this visa will cost you around £24 more than tourist visa.

If you are a player’s family member or friend and will also be caddying for a player, then you should apply for a "sport" visa in any event.

If you wish to apply for “sport visa”, please first read point 1 (above) and then point 3.

A. Visa application desks

To facilitate the visa application process, Real Russia will be providing a visa desk service at two events to allow you to drop off your passport and discuss your application with our visa specialists. The visa specialists will check and prepare your visa application for submission to the consulate and answer any questions you may have.

Applicants, unless they are non-residents in the UK and applying for a tourist visa, will only need to bring their original passport, one passport size photograph with white plain background taken no more than 6 months ago; and signed copy of their visa application form unless you apply in person in which case we will print it for you to sign at the visa desk.

  1. “Consular processing” time refers to the number of working days that your passport will be kept at the consulate in order for them to issue your visa. You can choose from two different service levels – a slow and fast - depending on how quickly you need your passport back.

A. "6 DAYS" (SLOW SERVICE): your visa should be issued a week after we will lodge your documents to the Russian consulate in London. We can then either dispatch your passport the same day to any address worldwide (in this case please select correct “Delivery option” and “Deliver to” address) or hold it in our London office for collection.

Please note that the delivery times vary considerably depending on which country your passport needs to be returned to. For deliveries to a UK address, we use Royal Mail Special Delivery, a secure, signed for, next day delivery service. To return passport outside the UK where tracked and signed delivery is available, we use Royal Mail International Delivery. For the rest of the world, we use DHL.

For applications submitted by post with visas issued either before Scottish Senior Open or English Senior Open visa desk date, we can also hand deliver your passport back to the actual tournament venue and it will be available for collection from Rules office as of Wednesday 13 or 20 August, respectively. If this applies to you, then please make sure that you choose “I will collect from your office” as “Delivery option” and confirm which venue you would like to collect your passport from in the comments box at the end of the online form.

We can then either dispatch your passport the same day to any address worldwide (in this case please select correct “Delivery option” and “Deliver to” address) or hold it in our London office for collection.

For applications submitted by post with visas issued either before Scottish Senior Open or English Senior Open visa desk date, we can also hand deliver your passport back to the actual tournament venue and it will be available for collection from Rules office as of Wednesday 13 or 20 August, respectively.
