Russian Visa Application Process

Real Russia is one of the UK’s leading agencies for visa management and travel services to Russia and surrounding region. Our dedicated visa experts process tens of thousands of applications a year and have direct relations with the Russian authorities. Just like they did for the PGA Seniors Tour in 2014, Real Russia will greatly simplify the visa process for you, providing support and peace of mind throughout and ensuring that your visa is processed correctly and on time.

This webpage will guide you through our simplified visa application process which has been set up specifically for players, their caddies, family members and friends as well as for Staysure Tour event staff travelling to the tournament in Moscow in August.

Before you start, please check you have the following:

  • A signed, undamaged passport with:
    • Two blank pages
    • Six months validity remaining after the exit date of your visa (if you are applying for a visa which is valid until 26 August 2018, your passport must be valid until at least 26 February 2019)

A. APPLYING FOR YOUR RUSSIAN VISA IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Real Russia have negotiated a simplified proccess with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This will allow all Staysure Tour players, caddies and event staff to apply for their visa in the UK.

Under this simplified process applicants will be issued with a "humanitarian" visa with purpose of visit "sport". For the sake of simplicity, we may also refer to this simply as a “sport” visa on this webpage.

To allow us to start processing your visa we need you to fill in the downloadable questionnaire which you can get here and email it, along with a scan of the photo page of your passport to visas@realrussia.co.uk with the subject “RUSSIAN OPEN GOLF 2018”.

Once you've done that please read point 3, submitting your visa application documents, below.

Please note that after the details of where you will obtain your visa and which passport you will use have been submitted to the Russian authorities, you will not be able to change these.

A. Tourist visa

Family and friends should apply for a Russian "tourist" visa. However, the simplified, faster application procedure does not apply to these visas and applicants would need to comply with the standard consulate requirements.

To see if you are entitled to apply in the UK, and which documents you need to provide, please follow this link and select your nationality from the drop-down box.

To find out the costs and timescales involved in getting a Russian tourist visa, please follow this link and select your nationality from the drop-down box above the table of prices.

The price includes our full Russian tourist visa service, which includes a tourist invitation letter (also known as “visa support”) provided by us. Therefore, if you have not yet applied for your visa support through the Moscow Country Club, we can provide this for you.

Please note that all “Standard service” processing options for Russian visas are now too slow to get your visa in time for the Staysure Tour Russian Open Golf Championship (17-19 August 2018), so you will now have to use “Express service”.

Once you've checked the document requirements, timescales and prices, please read point 3, submitting your visa application documents, below.

A. Visa application desk

Real Russia will be providing a visa desk service at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship in The Great Entrance Hall at The London Golf Club, Ash, Kent to allow you to drop off your application documents and give your fingerprints (this is now required for everybody over the age of 12 applying for a Russian visa).

Our visa specialists will review your visa application with you to ensure that it is correct and prepare your visa application for submission to the Russian consulate.

The Real Russia visa desk will be open at the Great Entrance Hall of the London Golf Club on the following dates:

  • Document drop-off and application queries: Tuesday 31 July 2018, 09:00 to 12:00
  • Visa applicant fingerprinting: Tuesday 31 July 2018, 13:00 to 15:30 and Wednesday 01 August 2018, 09:00 to 13:00
  • Passport and visa collection: Friday 03 August 10:00 to 17:00

Please note that you only need to attend one of the fingerprinting sessions above to give your fingerprints. The fingerprinting session on the afternoon of Tuesday 31 July is for those applicants who are unable to attend the fingerprinting session on Wednesday 01 August.

  • Those who are applying for “sport” visas (golf players, caddies and event staff) will be able to collect their passports with their visas from the Real Russia Help Desk at the London Golf Club on Friday 3rd August and must, if they have not already done so, complete the questionare and provide us with a scan of the photo page from their passport by 15th July 2018.
  • Those applying for Russian tourist visas (family and friends) should be aware that tourist visas take longer to process than “Sport” visas, so the tourist visas will not be ready by Friday 3rd August if the documents are handed in to the Real Russia Help Desk on 31st July. Therefore, those applying for tourist visas can either:
    • Collect their visa from Real Russia’s office in Islington, London once it is ready.
    • Have their passport posted back to them by Royal Mail Special Delivery once their tourist visa is ready (this will be on or slightly after Monday 6th August 2018).
B. Applying directly via Real Russia's London office

If you intend to obtain your Russian visa in the United Kingdom but will not be using the visa desk service provided by Real Russia, you can apply for your visa directly through our London office.

Simply fill in the online visa application form as per the instructions below (in section 5) and post, courier or bring your passport and other relevant documents to us. Once we have received your application documents in our London office, we will contact you to arrange a day (after 23rd July) and time convenient for you to come and give your fingerprints at the Russian Visa Application Centre in London. Your visa application will then be submitted to the visa centre for processing.

When your visa is issued, we will return your passport to whichever address is suitable for you or hold it in our office for collection. If it is issued before the Real Russia visa desk dates at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, we can also deliver your passport directly to the venue.

To apply for your visa, please complete the online visa application form via the link below, following the instructions we have provided in section 5 of this webpage to guide you through the form.

Depending on what category of applicant you are:

In both cases, the price is set up for UK nationals as a default option though this will change if you select a different nationality on the second page of the application form.

A. All applicants

  1. “Consular processing” time refers to the number of working days that your passport will be kept at the Consulate in order for them to issue your visa. Normally, you can choose from two different service levels – a slow service and a fast service - depending on how quickly you need your passport back. However, only the “Express” or "Next day" option is fast enough to ensure the Consulate can issue your visa in time for the Russian Open Golf Championship in Moscow, 17-19 August 2018. “Sport” visas should be issued the next working day after we lodge your documents to the Russian consulate in London, while “Tourist” visas should be issued four working days after we lodge your documents to the Russian consulate in London.
  2. For your visa entry date and visa exit date, please indicate the exact same dates as are indicated on your visa support. This is very important as your application may be rejected by the Consulate if the dates on your visa application form differ from the dates on your visa support. Do not worry if you are not actually travelling to Russia on the exact dates indicated in your visa support, as your visa will cover you for travel on or between the entry date and exit date. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
  3. Select "Moscow" as "city 1" in the cities to be visited.
  4. Select / Type "Moscow Country Club" in the "hotel address" box.
  5. Confirm the "date when you need your passport back by" at the very latest.
  6. With regards to the "Countries you have visited in the last ten years" question, please make sure that you list ALL visits to ALL countries that you have an entry stamp from in your current passport (in case you have visited one country more than once, you still have to confirm all visits together with entry dates as per stamps). You must also list all your visits to Russia (if any). Not filling this information in according to the requirements may cause delays or even rejection of the visa application by the consulate.
  7. In the "Comments" box at the end of the form:
    1. Type "RUSSIAN OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP (SENIOR) 2018".
    2. Confirm what category of applicant you are - Player, Caddy, Family member, Friend, Event Staff.
    3. Specify how you will be submitting your documents (“directly via Real Russia London office”, or “in person at the Real Russia Help Desk” – in the latter case, please specify the tournament (“at Real Russia Help Desk, Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, London Golf Club, Kent”).
    4. Reconfirm how (by post, delivered to the tournament venue – specify which) and what date you need to receive your passport back at the latest and specify the reason such as, for example, subsequent travel.
    5. Put any other information of which you want us to be aware which may influence the visa process.

B. Players, caddies and event staff applying for a "Sport" visa

  1. Ensure the "Visa Support Service" is set to "12 working days" to make sure the visa is correctly priced - this will mean the "Expected date of issue" shown on the form is slightly incorrect, please ignore this.
  2. If you want your passport and visa returned to the London Golf Club on Friday 3rd August, select the "Other courier" delivery option and the “Other address” deliver to option and type: “Collect from Real Russia help desk” into the delivery address box. If at any point you change your mind and decide to change the passport delivery option, please notify our visa team and we will modify this for you accordingly.
  3. Applicable to Players & Caddies only: In the Work or Study details section, select "Employed" as your status and "Professional Golfer" or “Professional Caddy” as the position, then:

If you have your own company registered to a different address from your home address, or media rights company, or an agent; then please enter the name and address of the company, otherwise; If you do not have your own company, media rights company, an agent with a company or you do have a company but it is registered at the same address as your home address; then please enter:

PGA (Players)/ European Tour Caddies Association (Caddies) Wentworth Drive
Virginia Water, GU25 4LX, United Kingdom, 01344 840 400

If you select your employment status as "self-employed" or "unemployed", the Russian consulate will require you to provide copies of your bank statements for the last three months. Please note that French passport holders are required to provide their bank statement regardless of their employment status.

C. Family members and friends

  1. Family members and friends: Leave “Purpose of visit” as “Tourism”.
  2. If you have already obtained your visa support from the Moscow Country Club, select “I have my own visa support documents” from the support service option. The price of your visa will reduce accordingly. If you already have your visa support, please complete the information about the tourist company according to the visa support documents that the Moscow Country Club sent to you. The boxes to enter this information will appear below the “Departing from…to” question on the form. If you require assistance filling out this part of the form, please contact us; our visa team will be happy to help.
  3. If you do not yet have your visa support, we can provide this for you. If this is the case, simply select “Provide visa support documents” from the support service option. The price of your visa will be automatically calculated.
  4. Select "Myself" for "who will pay for your trip and stay to Russia".

A. Staysure Tour Event Staff

Once you complete the online form, you will be prompted to pay for your visa. Please disregard this and DO NOT pay online.

B. Players & Caddies

You MUST pay for your visa.

If you have already paid for your visa support seperately, please let us know and we will deduct this from the cost of your visa before you pay online.

Once we have received payment, we can begin processing your application.

Please note that the latest date you can pay is 15th July 2018.

C. Family & Friends

You MUST pay for your visa.

Our system will automatically display the correct price depending on the service options you indicated when filling in the online form.

We will not be able to begin processing your application until we have received payment.

To apply for your actual visa you need to provide the following paperwork:

A. Players, Caddies & Event Staff

  1. Signed and undamaged passport. This must have at least two blank pages (with no stamps or marks) and be valid for at least six months after the exit date of your visa (so, if you are applying for a visa which is valid until 26 August 2018, your passport must be valid until at least 26 February 2019).
  2. A single, colour passport sized photograph taken against a white background. The photograph must be no older than 6 months (please note that if you are applying at the help desk or our office in London then we can provide passport photos on the day).
  3. Your fingerprints and your signature. There is no need to worry about printing off the official visa application form, as we will print it off pre-filled with the answers you indicated in the online form. When you give your fingerprints (either at the Russian Visa Application Centre in London or at our visa help desk at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at The London Golf Club), you will simply need to sign the completed application form.

Tourist visa

The consulate will require all of the above as well as all other documents requested in the “Next Steps” email.

B. APPLYING FOR YOUR RUSSIAN VISA OUTSIDE OF THE UK

If you wish to obtain your visa at other than the Russian consulate in London, then we will be able to organise your official visa support documents (invitation) which you will need to have in order to apply for your visa at the consulate of your choice.

To apply for it, please read the instructions below.

  1. To allow us to start processing your invitation we need:
    a) A clear scanned copy of your passport photo page
    b) The country and city where your visa will be obtained
    c) Your earliest entry date into Russia and your latest exit date from Russia.

We have created a short questionnaire to simplify handing this information to us. You can download it by clicking this link, if you have not downloaded the questionnaire already. If you have not already provided sent this questionnaire to us, then please email it now to visas@realrussia.co.uk with subject “Russia Open Golf 2018 - Visa information for [your full name] - [player/caddy]”.  If you have not done so in the questionnaire, please mention in your email which consulate (country, city) you will apply for your visa at and attach a copy of your passport photo page, if still required.

Please note that after the details of where you will obtain your visa will be submitted to the Russian authorities, your invitation will be sent to your selected Consulate, so you will not be able to apply elsewhere.Your invitation will be issued based on the passport details that you provide us a copy of. For this reason, you must apply for your visa using this passport.

  2. We must receive your questionnaire, or the information stated in point 1 above by 15 July 2018 at the latest. If you miss this deadline, you can contact us and we will see what we can do to accommodate you, however we will not be able to guarantee that we can get your invitation or visa in time.

  3. The exact cost of the telex invitation is £38.25. If you are a player or caddy, we will contact you to make the payment before we can begin processing your invitation. If you are a member of the Staysure Tour event staff, the Staysure Tour will collect payment from you.

  4. Once issued, your invitation will be sent directly to the Russian consulate of your choice. We will confirm the details which you will need to complete your actual visa application form by email, if you have not received these by 23rd July, please check your junk or spam folder before contacting us.

  5. When applying for your visa, you will need to comply with the requirements of the local consulate. Please note that in some countries, the visa processing time may take longer than in other countries. We would therefore recommend you check this information as well as application documents requirements directly with the consulate that you intend to apply at before you visit them. In any case, it is advisable to apply for your visa at the very earliest opportunity, using Express, rather than Standard, consular processing if necessary.

Do not worry if you are not actually travelling on the exact entry and exit dates you indicate on your visa support form and your visa application form; your visa will cover you for travel on or between them. However, various Consulates have differing rules, so we recommend you double-check the invitation requirements with the Consulate at which you intend to apply for your visa. If the invitation has to be submitted as an original, we can post it to you directly from our Moscow office. In this case, please select the most appropriate delivery option.

  1. After you have applied online, you must email your questionnaire to visas@realrussia.co.uk with subject “Russia Open Golf 2018 – Tourist VSD Online Form for [your full name] - [family/ friend]”. If you have not already done so in your questionnaire, then in the body of the email, please confirm at which consulate (country, city) you will apply for your visa.

  2. When applying for your visa, you will need to comply with the requirements of the local consulate. Please note that in some countries, visa processing may take longer than in other countries. We would therefore recommend you check this information as well as application documents requirements directly with the consulate that you intend to apply at before you visit them.
