What Does My Match Ticket Get Me?

Applying for a match ticket (and subsequently getting your official ticket request number) will allow you to:

  • Apply for your official Fan ID, which will allow you visa-free entry to and exit from Russia. See our dedicated Fan ID page for more information.
  • Enter the stadia (when shown with your Fan ID) for which you have relevant match tickets.
  • Enjoy free inter-city travel between the host cities for which you have match tickets, as well as free public transport to and from matches within the host cities (see our dedicated transport page for more information).

How Can I Buy Official World Cup 2018 Match Tickets?

To reserve official match tickets, you must go to the official FIFA ticket website and create an account before you can apply for tickets.

When and Where Can I Buy Match Tickets?

Purchasing of World Cup match tickets is divided into 3 sales phases:

During the first two sales phases, it will only be possible to purchase match tickets online. During the Last-Minute Sales Phase, in addition to being able to purchase match tickets online, you will be able to purchase tickets at official FIFA World Cup Ticketing Centres (FWCTCs), which will be located in each of the 11 host cities.

Please note that applying for a ticket does not guarantee that you will be issued one, as places at the matches are limited. Rather, you will be informed whether or not your application has been successful at the end of the sales phase in which you applied. However, during the first-come, first-served sales phases, the earlier you apply, the greater your chance of receiving tickets! For more information, please see the official FIFA ticketing website.

What Price Are the Match Tickets?

Tickets are priced in US Dollars and Russian Roubles, and are divided into 4 pricing categories:

  • Category 1 – the most expensive places with the best available views in the stadia. Prices range from $210 (approximately £159 as of November 2017) for a ticket to a group match to $1,100 (approximately £835) for a ticket to the Final.
  • Category 2 – the second most expensive ticket category. Prices range from $165 (approximately £125) for a ticket to a group match to $710 (approximately £540) for a ticket to the Final.
  • Category 3 – the cheapest ticket category that is available to all customers, regardless of country of residence. Prices range from $105 (approximately £80) for a ticket to a group match to $455 (approximately £345) for a ticket to the Final.
  • Category 4 – the cheapest ticket category. This ticket category is available to Russian residents only. Prices range from ₽1,280 (approximately £17) for a ticket to a group match to ₽7,040 (approximately £93) for a ticket to the Final. These tickets are available in Roubles only.

The prices above are converted into Pounds Sterling from US Dollars using HMRC’s currency rates for November 2017. For more information on match ticket pricing, see the official FIFA ticket pricing page.

How Will I Receive My Match Tickets?

If you reserved your match tickets during any stage of sales phase 1 and sales phase 2 (see the image above for dates), then, in the vast majority of cases, your tickets will be delivered by courier to the address you indicated when you applied for your tickets. FIFA have stated that delivery of tickets will begin in April/May 2018.

However, if you reserved your tickets during the last-minute sales phase (18th April 2018 – 15th July 2018 (the day of the World Cup Final)), you will not be able to have your tickets delivered, and will need to collect them from an FWCTC in Russia.
