Throughout February and March there are some notable Russian holidays that we would like to present via a series of blogs. This weekend marks the 'Defender of the Fatherland'. It is celebrated on the Sunday 23rd February 2014, and over almost the last 100 years it has gone through many changes.
With the Figure skating, Freestyle skiing, and Snowboarding events all kicked off yesterday, ahead of the Opening ceremony today at 16:00 GMT, the XXII Winter Olympics looks to be an exciting event for Russia!
