“The Stolby Nature Reserve, Krasnoyarsk”
Famous for its spectacular rising pillars, exquisite backdrops, its rich natural and cultural history, the Stolby Reserve, referred to as the heart of Krasnoyarsk, offers magnificent hiking experiences for those who are adventurous at heart.
This two day trek is ideal for the physically fit who are looking for a remarkable challenge. Your excursion begins after being picked up by your tour guide from an agreed destination, after which you will take your first steps towards conquering the 25km hiking trail through one of Siberia’s most beautiful and natural landscapes.
Trekking 10-15 km on day one, getting closer to the land and its people, prepare to be swept off your feet by the sun kissed mountains crests bordering Krasnoyarsk. While exploring the area, the enormous towering pillars and the majestic rock formations will make this trek one that you will never forget.
As dawn draws near, your tour guide will lead you to observe more of the rising rocks that are scattered amid the taiga, where very few people have ventured. Afterwards you and your guide will proceed to the wooden cabin, where you will then enjoy a traditional Siberian dinner before retiring for the night.
The second day involves trekking to an area of the reserve referred to as the “Wild Stolby”, where very few have had the opportunity to explore. Before continuing on your remarkable adventure, enjoy a picnic lunch which may consist of some delicious Siberian delicacies, while taking in the scenic views that surrounds you. There are no any sign of human presence, there are very few paths.
Once you have fallen in love with the mountainous metropolitan that is Krasnoyarsk, your adventure ends and you will return to the city where you will say ‘do svidaniya” (goodbye) to your guide.
This excursion includes professional guide services, overnight stay at a local wooden log, transportation and meals (day 1 -lunch, dinner, day 2 – breakfast and lunch).
