“Trans-Siberian Museum, Novosibirsk”
Begin your excursion in one of Russia’s only scientific towns, where all the divisions of Russian science are located. During your visit, you will discover more about the town’s history as you walk through the House of Scientist and browse through the collection of Russian masterpieces.
The historic town was founded in the 1950s under the ‘Academy of Sciences’ division of the USSR, and Akademgorodok was the residence to over 60,000 scientist during a period of economic uncertainty. While your tour guide recounts the history of the historic town, you will have the opportunity to visit one of two museums of your choice, the Archeological Museum or the Open-Air Train Museum, where you can view its collection of vintage Trans-Siberian trains.
The excursion concludes shortly after you have walked along the embankment of the largest man-made lake in Siberia, and then your guide will lead you back to the centre of the city, where you can spend the rest of your day experiencing the vibrant city of Novosibirsk.
