You’ll begin your enchanting journey in Irkutsk before travelling on to the exquisite Sludyanka station, the only to be made of marble, that’s where the programme of the Circum-Baaikal tour starts.

The train will make stops at historically important villages on the way that will give you a chance to walk around and take beautiful pictures. The guide will take you through the longest tunnel on the railway and show you the water pump towers that used to pump water for the steam train.

Your lunch at the Polovinnaya station will be served by a ‘Babushka’ (an elderly Russian lady) who lives in a tiny station near the huge 700m tunnel. Not only will she serve you up some delicious authentic food, it will be complemented by home-made vodka called ‘Samogon’ for a true experience of Russian delicacies.

In the evening upon arrival to Port Baikal you will get on a ferry to cross lake Baikal to get on a bus to Irkutsk.
