The Prospekt takes you past some of the most historic sights as it runs from the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station up to the Alexander Nevsky Monastery.
Originally called the Great Perspective Road, it was simple the beginning of the road to the ancient city of Novgorod but soon became adorned with beautiful buildings, squares and bridges and became the centre of the bustling, cultural city.
As the City of Bridges, you’ll see the moon reflecting off the tranquil water as you visit the incredible drawbridges around these 45 islands. These are especially spectacular at night as they lift to let in the huge steamers and ships gliding into Ladoga Lake.
If you visit between May and July, you’ll feel magical as the period of White Nights takes place with wonderful lights all around to make the evening one of majestic beauty. The downtown area will charm you with romantic lights and the twilights of White Nights as you see the opening of the Palace, Troitskiy and Liteyniy Bridges.
