You’ll be taken on a tour by car to see all the most important historic sights in the city as your guide introduces you to downtown St. Petersburg with the Nevsky Prospekt, Monastery of Alexander Nevsky, Church of the Saviour on the Blood, Kazanskiy Cathedral, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Palace Square, the Hermitage, Admiralty and even the St. Basil Point where you can admire the most picturesque view over this wonderful city.
You’ll have several opportunities to stop along the way and take photos of your favourite pieces of Russian architecture.
Go on to visit the first construction of the city, The Peter and Paul Fortress which is an incredible piece of architecture in the centre of the city. You will be taken through the historic haunts of the fortress learning all about the history of St. Petersburg. The Cathedral here was served as the burial place for Russian Emperors and members of their family, and Peter the Great is buried near the south wall of the Cathedral.
After stepping back in the history and culture of the Peter and Paul Fortress, you will know about great and tragic pages in the history of the Royal family and history behind the construction of one of St.Petersburg most memorable landmarks.
