“St Basil”s Cathedral, Red Square, Moscow”
Enjoy the beautiful sights of the city along with stunning St Basil’s Cathedral.
With this tour, you’ll see all the famous attractions of Moscow, starting in the Red Square. There you can enjoy St.Basil’s Cathedral, which is official called ‘The Cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat’, inside and out. The ‘Basil’ name came from a Muscovite holy fool who was buried here.
This Cathedral is now a museum with stunning patterned paintwork galleries and a soaring tented 16th Century roof. During restoration of the building, they discovered a hidden spiral staircase which they now use to invite you into the beauty of this Cathedral within.
After immersing yourself in the religious culture of St. Basil’s Cathedral, moving along you will see the Lenin Mausoleum, the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, New Maidens Convent and Moscow State University.
This tour includes a glorious stroll along the Moskva embankment and a chance to see Moscow at its finest from the Sparrow Hills observation point before moving on to the Memorial Complex at Poklonnaya Hill and sights such as New Arbat and Pushkin Square before finishing at Manezhnaya Square.
