Visit the beautiful city of St Petersburg including St. Isaac’s Cathedral

This tour is one of the most popular with tourists and first time visitors of St. Petersburg.

You’ll be taken through the city to see all of the most important sights such as the Nevsky Prospekt, which is one of the best-known streets in Russia. The Prospekt takes you past some of the most historic sights as it runs from the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station up to the Alexander Nevsky Monastery.

Originally called the Great Perspective Road, it was simple the beginning of the road to the ancient city of Novgorod but soon became adorned with beautiful buildings, squares and bridges and became the centre of the bustling, cultural city.

Along the way you can admire Stroganov Palace, Beloselskih-Belozerskih Palace, Kazan Cathedral and the building of the famous Dom Knigi book store, the largest in the city.

You’ll also be able to admire the picturesque view by Griboedova canal from where you can look down over the Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood.

There’s plenty to see around the city with the Arts Square, Russian Museum, Gostiny Dvor department store, the Russian National Library, monument to Catherine the Great and the Anichkov Bridge as well as the exquisite Palace Square. Here you’ll find the impressive statue of the founder of St. Petersburg, Peter the Great as well as admiring the strong, famous bridges which connect Vasilievsky Island with the mainland.

There’s also a historic Summer Garden nearby where you can appreciate the beauty and culture of this historic city.

This tour also takes you to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, one of the most prominent landmarks in the silhouette of St. Petersburg. It’s the fourth largest domed cathedral in the world and stands proud in the city at over 100m and room for 14,000 people inside. Designed by Auguste Ricard de Montferrand, it was inspired by Greek Orthodox architects with large arched windows and adorned walls. Both the interior and exterior will blow you away with ornate models from the Renaissance and an abundance of delicate décor.
