“Simatai section of the Great Wall”
Hanging onto the mountain, with Mandarin Duck Lake lying at its foot, Simatai Great Wall is known for its distinctive scenery, unique construction and steepness.
Simatai Great Wall has probably the greatest number of watchtowers per kilometer than any other section of the Great Wall. It is also famous for the diverse architectural styles of the beacon towers and its authentic appearance as the renovation only focused on necessary reinforcements.
The main attractions of Simatai Great Wall are 986-meter-high Watching Beijing Tower, Fairy Maiden Tower, Heavenly Ladder, and Sky Bridge. There is also a “rope” bridge across the valley that connects the two subsections of Simatai Great Wall, as well as a cable car on which you can slide across the valley.
