“View of the Kremlin from the Volga River”
Standing high on the banks of the Volga River, the Kazan Kremlin is a unique historical symbol of Tatarstan history. The Kremlin offers magnitudes of contrast, housing a number of orthodox cathedrals and mosques, a significant symbol of religion and history in Kazan.
Your tour begins with your guide recounting the history of Kazan’s glorious fortress, during which time, you will get a glimpse into the conflict and struggle for unity between the two faiths, Christianity and Islam. Your guide will then lead you inside the kremlin, where you will see the Kul Sharif Mosque and the Orthodox Annunciation Cathedral, as they stand together to signify the unity between both religions.
During your tour, you will see the leaning Syuyumbike Tower, the Governor’s Palace and the burial sites of the Kazan Khans. Before your tour concludes, you have the opportunity to admire the most beautiful panorama of the Kazanka River and the new city from the high hill of the magnificent Kazan Kremlin.
