“Fountain at Peterhof Palace, St Petersburg”
You’ll get to see the beautiful St. Petersburg suburbs with this trip of three parts.
First, you will ride to Peterhof, learning about the history of the architecture and the monuments of the palace and park such as the ancient estate Alexandrino, Novoznameka and Troitse-Sergieva Pustin. Peterhof was also known as Peter’s Palace in the late 20th Century and is one of the most spectacular European palace and park complexes of the last few centuries. It sits on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland with exquisite parks, splendid palaces and delightful pavilions. Its picturesque fountains and cascades are famous all over the world. The fountains operate from May till October.
Your day really begins with the visit to the Big Palace, a majestic and monumental three storied building which will amaze you with its elegance. Its halls are famous for their unusual and unique beauty such as Dancing hall, Chesmensky Hall, Western and Eastern China rooms and Partridge’s Hall.
Your day continues with a visit to the Lower Garden, stunning in nature and the perfect place to take a leisurely walk. Peterhof is often called the capital of fountains and it certainly lives up to its name. In the lower park, you’ll be able to admire several various fountains, coming in all shapes and each with their own unique beauty. In the East, you’ll be able to spot the Roman fountains, cascade Chess mountain and fountains such as the Sun, Piramide, Reap, Adam and the fun-fountains. As for the West, you’ll see the cascade Golden mountain and the fountains of Eva, Menager and Kloshi. Your day will be full of splendid architecture, nature and renowned fountains to give you a perfect relaxing day in the Russian countryside.
