This route is submerged in history and culture of one of the richest regions in the world.
You’ll be led to an old town-plan, Nevyansk, 90 km outside of Yekaterinburg. The Demidovs came here in the 17th Century, merchants of the mining and metallurgical industry in the Urals, connecting Yekaterinburg with other commercial towns and centres like Perm and Tchelyabinsk, the Serov Way for example.
Get a glimpse of this astounding history in your visit to the Museum of Local Lore and the exquisite unique monument from the past – the Leaning Stone Tower, complete with an amazing ‘acoustic room’, secret passages and laboratory where the Demidovs made gold as well as the intricate Nevyansk clock mechanism and steeple. It was built to rival the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You’ll also see the beauty and culture of this tour when visiting the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral as well as the private pottery works in the rural Nizhnye Tavolgi where you’ll get a chance to take part in the process yourself.
