“Russian Vodka”
Your excursion begins when your tour guide escorts you from your hotel to the Vodka Museum inside the Izmaylovo Kremlin, where you will find over 700 exhibits, and a large collection of branded Vodka. The history of vodka will be revealed to you while exploring the exhibits, with a detailed insight into the many ways vodka has been consumed and the impact it has had on Russian civilisation throughout the years.
Following on, your guide will transport you through time, on an incredible journey that begins in the 12th century taking you back to the beginning when production of vodka first began, to the state of the Russian Empire when vodka was sold by the bucket, through to the times of the Soviet Union. History will show you that Vodka was, and still is, an embedded facet of Russian culture.
Next, you will discover the secret to the intoxicating, yet distinctive taste that has been so deviously disguised inside many of the unique bottles on display. Before concluding your tour, you will proceed to the museum’s tavern for vodka tasting, where you will learn about vodka drinking traditions.
As your tour continues, you will have a chance to browse stalls selling Russian crafts, antiques, delicacies at the Izmaylovo Flee Market. While exploring this colourful and vibrant area, you will have many photo opportunities to capture this unique part of Moscow cultural heritage.
