Your exciting excursion begins when your guide collects you from either your hotel or the train station. After which you will embark on a short journey from Irkutsk to Listvyanka, a small settlement located near the awe-inspiring “Sacred Sea”, the natural wonder that is Lake Baikal.

At first glance, what seemingly appears to be a small village will transform into a haven for the adventurous soul. Your guide will lead you on a tour of the local biological museum, where you will have the opportunity to uncover some of Baikal’s unique marvels. When Inside the museum, gaze in awe at one of the world’s rarest mammals, Lake Baikal’s fresh water seals.

Having now explored the Biological Museum, your tour guide will lead you to a magnificent location where you are will able to observe the breath-taking view of Listvyanka. You will soar high above the city on an elevated chair lift, allowing you the chance to catch sight of the glorious scenery that surrounds you, including the stunning expanse of Lake Baikal and the region.

From the embankment of the Angara River, discover the ancient symbol of Lake Baikal when you set eyes on the Shaman Rock. While finding yourself compelled by the stunning views of the Lake Baikal, your tour guide will enthral you with stories of the great legends that makes this exquisite landmark a sight not to be missed.

After enjoying a delicious lunch, you re-embark on your venture to uncover all that Listvyanka has to offer. Next, visit the St Nicolas Church, an ancient wooden chapel built in the mid-19th century, to discover the history of the region.

Before your excursion concludes, get acquainted with the sacred site of the Buryats, a place for prayer and worship, and then proceed to the local fish market to excite your palate with a taste of traditional Siberian cuisine. Your trip ends when you are accompanied back to Irkutsk.
