Visit to a Siberian Dacha

See life through the eyes of a local Siberian family

A dacha is a summer home away from home, a tranquil abode usually containing a banya which is a traditional Russian sauna, along with garden plots for growing fresh produce.

You will be picked up by your tour guide, whether it be at your hotel or at an agreed meeting point. From there you will embark on your cultural adventure outside of the main city of Krasnoyarsk.

Arrive at the host family’s dacha and be pleasantly welcomed by a local Russian family. You will be invited in to take a tour of their second home, including the garden plots to get a glimpse of the fresh produce that will go into preparing the meal.

While dinner is being prepared, join the family in conversation, learn about life in Krasnoyarsk and experience life through the eyes of your Russian family. You will have the opportunity to assist your host in cooking traditional Russian dishes, which may include pelmeni (Russian dumplings), shashlik (BBQ meat), pancakes.

While feasting on your delectable Russian lunch and discussing life in the world’s largest country, you will have the chance to engage in a customary drink with the family, which may include beer and home-made vodka. You will spend the rest of your dacha experience savouring the authentic flavours of Russia or taking a steam bath with birch broom (available for additional cost) before saying ‘do svidaniya” (goodbye) to your host family.

Upon conclusion of your remarkable visit, your transfer will take you back to your preferred location. The excursion includes professional guide services, transportation, river boat trip, lunch-picnic with local family and alcoholic beverages, banya can be provided at additional cost.
