“The Suzdal Kremlin”
This tour is packed full of culture and history seeing the beautiful architecture of the 12th Century and the museums.
The city was a major political, religious and cultural centre before Moscow took over. You’ll find the Cathedral of Assumption, build in 1158 and inspiring all future cathedral designers. Not only do you see Vladimir but also Suzdal, visiting the famous monuments of the Kremlin and Spass-Emfiev Monastery as well as count’s houses and several museums. It houses a fortress and collection of riverside convents and monasteries that date as far back as the 11th Century keeping its beauty and authenticity despite the tourism.
Suzdal’s conservative, tranquil beauty complements Vladimir’s grand heritage, and together they form an ideal weekend away from the bustle of Moscow.
Whether you travel in the gorgeous summer and see the cities in the blazing sun or visit in the sparkling winter, the thick walls of the cathedrals will lure you in and the sunlight or snowflakes glisten off the cathedral towers.
