Moscow
Russia’s official capital, Moscow, is the political and religious heart of the country. The city has the highest density of billionaires, is the world’s most populated inland city and boasts six out of Europe’s ten tallest buildings. It continues to be a major tourist destination in Europe growing year on year with famous attractions including Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, and the Kremlin.
Day 1
Arrival in Moscow
Welcome to Moscow! Your driver will meet you at the train station or airport and take you to the hotel ready for check-in.
The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you see fit. However, if you wish to make the most of your trip, we can offer one of our optional Moscow activities or excursions such as an evening cruise on the Moskva river.
We can recommend an evening cruise on the Moskva River as this is the best way to admire the evening lights of the capital and have a restful evening on a comfortable yacht.

Day 2
Moscow city tour
After breakfast, your guide and driver will be waiting for you in the hotel lobby to start an exciting journey around Moscow to see all the fantastic sites this city has to offer. You will begin with a car journey to visit the most popular Moscow sights. Including the Sparrow Hills’ observation spot, the Moskva river embankment, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, New Maiden’s Convent, Boulevard Ring, Tverskaya Street and Moscow State University.
The tour will continue through more historic places before heading for lunch. The second part of your day will involve a relaxing walk into the heart of the city where the Kremlin sits. You will have the opportunity to see all of these glorious buildings, including the three main Cathedrals on the ancient Sobornaya Square. See the symbolic Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell before visiting the world-famous museum treasury which holds a collection of state insignia, gold and silver utensils, weapons, luxury carriages as well as all the attire of famous Tsars from over the years.
The evening will be at your leisure, to spend walking in central Moscow or having dinner in one of the numerous restaurants.

Free time in Moscow and Departure
After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, you will have some free time before checking out of your hotel at 12 noon. You will meet your guide and driver at the agreed time for your transfer to the rail station for your first train journey to Krasnoyarsk.
We have a selection of optional morning excursions for you to consider allowing you to make the most of your time in Moscow.

Krasnoyarsk
Situated on the Yensei River, Krasnoyarsk is the third largest city in Siberia and an important junction on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The city has been hailed by Anton Chekov among others, as one of the most beautiful cities in Siberia and even the entirety of Russia. It is best known for the Stolby Nature Sanctuary, an idyllic national park set within rolling hills and rocky outcrops, found just 10km south of the city.
Day 6
Exploring Stolby National Park
Today, you will arrive in Krasnoyarsk, the capital of Siberia and one of the biggest transportation hubs of Russia. Your driver will meet you at the arrival terminal and take you to the hotel for an early check-in and a chance to have some breakfast and freshen up before the day’s events.
If you have ever been to Krasnoyarsk but haven’t visited the “Stolby” Nature Reserve, then you haven’t seen the heart of the city. For those who enjoy nature, open spaces and panoramic views, this will be a day to remember. Unlike a regular “Stolby” tour, you will not have to go up 7 km to reach the “First Stolby”. Our driver will take you straight to the top and our guides will make this tour unforgettable, by telling you a lot of interesting stories about the nature reserve along the way. A boxed lunch is included as part of the trip.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore what this city has to offer.

Day 7
Free time in Krasnoyarsk and Departure
Enjoy a more relaxed breakfast, before checking out from 12 noon. In the morning, you will be able to take an optional 3-hour city tour by car should you wish to see more of the city. After the tour, your driver will drop you off at the railway station where the guide will assist with boarding the train.
You will take a short train journey to Tayshet where you will arrive the same day and be met by our driver who will take you to your hotel in the village of Biryusa (15 km far from the city). You will be welcomed with a homemade dinner and relaxing sauna experience.

BAM
BAM refers to Russia’s Baikal Amur Mainline which stretches from Tayshet in Eastern Siberia to Sovetskaya Gavan in the Russian Far East, passing through several important destinations including Tynda and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The railway was built during the Soviet Era as an alternative route to the Trans-Siberian and is 4324 kilometres in length. Most notably, parts of the railway are built on layers of permafrost which support the structural integrity of the track.
Day 8
Exploring Tayshet
After breakfast, you will spend a couple of hours sightseeing around the historic Biryusa village. Next, you will stop for lunch before heading back to the hotel in Tayshet to learn more about this city.
Your guide and driver will take you on a trip to see the starting location of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. You will see the Rail Square, where the memorial board and Locomotive L-3449 are located to remember those building the BAM. Along with a nearby historic water pumping station.
Your tour will finish at the rail station where you will board the train for Severobaikalsk.

Severobaikalsk
A small town situated on the Northern tip of Lake Baikal at the mount of the Tyya River, Severobaikalsk was founded in 1974 as a work settlement for the nearby Baikal Amur Mainline (BAM), serving as the central starting point for the railway project. The town’s history is bound by this spectacular railway and is home to a church and a unique museum dedicated to the history of the Baikal Amur Mainline.
Day 9
Visiting the mineral hot springs of Dzelinda / Exploring the beaches of Yarki Island.
After arriving in Severobaikalsk, you will be taken on one of two experiences depending on the time of year. Your driver will meet you at the rail station and take you to your hotel, where you will get some time to rest and refresh. Afterwards, you will have lunch in a city cafe before starting your day excursion to Nizhneangarsk, the most Northern point of Lake Baikal.
In winter, you will visit the mineral hot springs of Dzelinda. Whereas, in summer you will instead embark on a catamaran experience on Yarki Island. Here you will have time to walk along some of the wild beaches of Lake Baikal. Both options are followed by a delicious dinner in one of the city restaurants on your return.

Day 10
Severobaikalsk city tour
After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and meet your guide and driver for a city tour around Severobaikalsk. You will have a chance to visit the Picture Gallery and the Bayar Buryat Centre, to experience an interactive program and to taste some traditional food “posy” with green tea. You will then have some free time to do some last-minute shopping before departing for the railway station and boarding the next train for Tynda.

Tynda
Situated near where the Getkan River joins the Tynda River (to which the town is named), Tynda is an important industrial town located in Amur Oblast. The town is known as an important crossing point of the Baikal-Amur Mainline and the Amur Yakutsk Mainline and is one of the most significant producers of timber in the region. The town is home to several tourist attractions including the Museum of the History of the Baikal-Amur Mainline.

You will spend the day on the train to Tynda. On arrival, your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel where you will check-in for the evening.

Day 12
Visiting the Baikal-Amur Mainline Museum in Tynda
You will have some time for breakfast before continuing to see this little Russian town, famous for its Baikal-Amur Mainline Museum, which is considered to be the best in Russia. After your trip to the museum, you will head for a nearby viewpoint. Here you can see panoramic views of the whole town, before completing your day with a car tour, passing by the modern Trinity Church and other historic buildings which you will learn more about on the way.
After your tour, you will be taken to the railway station where you will board the train to Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

Komsomolsk-on-Amur
Located on the west bank of the Amur River in the Russian Far East, Komsomolsk-on-Amur is a vital industrial city in Khabarovsk Krai. The old settlement where the city now stands was conquered by the Mongols in the 13th century and was occupied by the Manchus until the 1858 Treaty of Aigun which ceded the area to Russia. It is located on the Baikal-Amur Mainline and is known for its aircraft production.

Komsomolsk-on-Amur city tour
Once you have arrived at Komsomolsk-on-Amur station, your driver will take you to your hotel for an early check in.
You will have some time to rest before meeting your guide for a city tour where you will get to see the central prospects and squares, before visiting the City Lore Museum.
The tour will continue after lunch with a trip to Pivan, where you will get to see the first BAM tunnel, the largest BAM bridge across the Amur river, the bridge constructors’ village “New World” and to learn more about the local bridge brigade 26 who built the BAM bridges.
Your tour will end with a relaxing stroll across the Amur embankment and you will then be free for the rest of the evening to explore for yourself.

Day 15
Visting the Crystal Lake at Solnechniy Village
Today, you will leave Komsomolsk-on-Amur behind and head to Vanino. After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and meet your guide for a trip to Solnechniy village. Here you will visit the local mineralogical museum and Crystal Lake before stopping at the Rail Museum. Lunch will be offered as a part of this trip and the day will finish with a transfer back to the railway station for your train to Vanino.

Vanino
Vanino is an industrial port settlement situated on the Strait of Tartary in Khabarovsk Krai, Russia. It is of key economic significance to the Far East Russia and is one of the ten largest ports in Russia in terms of cargo handling; it connects to other inland cities via the Baikal Amur Mainline. The Vanino-Kholmsk train ferry, provides an important connection between Sakhalin and the Russian mainland.

On arrival at Vanino Railway Station, you will be able to walk over to your hotel, check-in and take some time to rest and refresh before starting your day.
Vanino is the largest Russian seaport in the Khabarovsk region where ferries operate to and from Sakhalin. Today, your guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a full tour of the historic seaport.

Your tour will continue to Sovetskaya Gavan’ where you will see the beautiful Menshikov and Obmannaya Bays.
Your tour will end at the Sovetskaya Gavan’ Railway Station where you will board the train to Khabarovsk.

Khabarovsk
A large city situated on the Amur River in South-eastern Russia, Khabarovsk is the largest city and the administrative center of Khabarovsk Krai. It lies just 14 miles from the border with China and was named “Boli” when it was part of the Chinese Empire. The city has a rich history and culture and is best known for the dazzling Cathedral of the Assumption and the popular Komsomolskaya Square.

Welcome to Khabarovsk! Your driver will meet you at the train station and take you to the hotel where you can check-in and unpack. You will then have the rest of the day exploring one of Russia’s cleanest cities by yourself.

Day 18
Khabarovsk city tour
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and driver at the hotel before setting off on a tour of the city. Along the way, you will visit the “Amur Rock” viewpoint above Nevelskiy embankment, “Severniy Park”, Eternal Flame, Glory Square and Preobrazhenskiy Cathedral.
You will end your tour with a trip to the spectacular Grado-Khabarovskiy Cathedral, it is renowned for its unique architecture. Before getting a closer look at the Alekseevskiy Bridge over the Amur river, this is the largest bridge on the Trans-Siberian Railway and is even pictured on the 5000RUB Russian banknote.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore by yourself. If you are stuck for things to do, why not try one of our optional excursions?
