This 8-day Armenian wine tasting tour includes a visit to no less than six wineries around Armenia, a city tour of Yerevan, a trip to a 13th-century monastery and a journey to the famous Garni temple dating back to the 1st century AD.

Yerevan
The capital of Armenia and its largest city, Yerevan has been occupied since the 8th century BC and is one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in the world. Although the city is known for its Soviet architecture, it has a vibrant cultural identity which it expresses through classical artistry, musical fountains, unique museums and its founding landmark, Erebuni Fortress.
Day 1
Arrival in Yerevan
Welcome to Yerevan! Your driver will pick you up at your scheduled departure point (Yerevan Airport or railway station) before taking you to your hotel.
After checking in to your hotel you will have a bit of free time to gather your bearings, relax in your hotel or go out for dinner at one of the city’s many restaurants.

Day 2
Tour of the Famous Ararat Brandy Factory
After a good night’s sleep breakfast will kick off your experience with a Yerevan city tour where you see some of the city’s most iconic landmarks including Republic Square, the Mother Armenia Monument, the President’s Palace and more. You will also have the chance to visit the Genocide Memorial and Museum or the Cascade Complex of modern art.
After lunch you will have a guided tour of the famous ArArAt brandy factory where you will have the chance to try a selection of local brandy. After the tour you will have free time to do more exploring or try one of our recommended optional excursions such as a visit to the exclusive Armenian Wine and Grapes Spa or a trip to the cosy wine bar ‘In Vino’, the first speciality wine shop and bar in Yerevan.

Day 3
Stop at the VanArdi Family Boutique Winery
After a light breakfast at your hotel, your day will start with a short photo stop at the 13th century Saghmosavank Monastery located on the edge of a gorge next to the Kasakh River.
Next, you will stop at selection of wineries from around the region including the family-owned winery, Armenia Wine, where you will visit biodynamic vineyards and the VanArdi boutique winery where you will get to taste a variety of red, white and rose wines. Lunch will be served at the VanArdi winery before travelling to the final two wineries of the day, Voskevaz, where you will get to taste two classic wines and one vintage variety as well as the Arm As winery where you will get to try three more varieties.
You will then head back to your hotel in Yerevan where you will have free time to rest and relax or explore the city.

Day 4
Trip to the Trinity Canyon Vineyards
You will start your day with a drive to the Ararat Valley to visit the Khor Virap Church, where you will see the best views of the biblical Mt Ararat.
You will then continue onto one of Armenia’s most influential wine regions, which has traced the production of wine back to around 6000 years ago. Now a new generation of Armenian Wineries have taken up the process and have started producing a variety of wines using these tried and tested techniques. You will visit the Trinity Canyon Vineyards where you can try the 6100 Trinity Ancestors Orange Wine that uses many of the traditional methods known to the region. While at the vineyard, the local winemaker will talk you through how the wine is made and the legacy of this important winery before allowing you to taste a selection of their most popular recipes.
The final stretch of your tour will take you to the 13th century Noravank Monastery, before heading over to the ‘Old Bridge’ family boutique winery to sample a series of specialist wines made from Areni, Voskehat and Kakheti grapes native to Armenia.

Day 5
Exploring the Dilijan Mountain Resort
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the beautiful region of Dilijan, known as the ‘Armenian Switzerland’. You will explore the beautiful mountains and lakes of Armenia starting with the Sevan, known to be one of the best freshwater lakes in Eurasia. Whilst there you will pay a visit to the Sevanavank Monastery which stands on a peninsula overlooking the lake.
Your journey will continue onto the magical Haghartsin Monastery, located in a scenic secluded forest, before driving to the beautiful city of Ijevan surrounded by thick forested mountains and alpine meadows. While here you will visit the Ijevan wine and brandy factories, known to be one of the oldest in Armenia, where you where you will get to try an assortment of the 40 wines and spirits, they produce.

Day 6
Visit to the Garni Temple
After having breakfast in your hotel, you will set out on the road to Garni, home of the mysterious Garni Temple. The temple is known to be the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia dating back to the 1st century AD and devoted to the Sun God Myrth.
Following your tour at Garni, you will stop for a family-hosted lunch where you will get to see the locals make traditional ‘Lavash’ (Armenian flatbreads) and taste a range of homemade vodkas and wines made from apricots, grapes, mulberry and apple.
The final part of today’s tour will take you the Geghard Monastery, built between the 12th and 13th centuries where you will get the option to stay for a concert of liturgical songs, before heading back to your hotel in Yerevan.

Day 7
Trip to the Maran Winery
The final day of your Armenian wine tour will take you through no less than three wineries. After breakfast, you will start the day with a visit to two Armenian UNESCO World Heritage sites. The first, a journey to Zvartnots, a temple built in the 7th century displaying a unique example of Armenian architecture for the early Christian period and the Echmiatsin Cathedral.
After your morning history tour, you will continue a final journey around Armenia’s best wineries visiting the Maran, Karas and Voskeni estates for plenty of wine tasting.
After your final wine tasting experience, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Yerevan, where you can enjoy a final evening meal out and some free time exploring the city.
