Kaliningrad Travel Guide

Fall Of Hitler’s Fortress City: The Battle for Königsberg 1945
Facing an advancing Red Army, over two million people were forced out of East Prussia following Hitler’s decision to invade the Soviet Union in 1941. In 1945 with the German’s now in full retreat, the Soviet army was determined to avenge the horrors of Leningrad and Stalingrad through invasion and occupation of some of its Eastern territories. Denny has provided a detailed account of the last days of Hitler’s Königsberg, combining first-hand accounts and archived material to tell a dramatic story of the people that bore the brunt of Russia’s vengeance against the Nazi regime.
The Teutonic Knights: The History and Legacy of the Catholic Church’s Most Famous Military Order
A fascinating history detailing the origins and lives of the Teutonic Knights, one of the world’s most inspiring, yet secretive religious orders. This book explores the many facets of the famous knights from the origins of the brotherhood, to the highs and lows of its conquests, and the events leading to their eventual decline. The Teutonic Knights: The History and Legacy of the Catholic Church’s Most Famous Military Order includes a wide range of illustrations, contemporary accounts of the knights and their histories, and a detailed online resource for those wanting to explore further.
The Last Years of the Teutonic Knights: Lithuania, Poland and the Teutonic Order
Through fearless and at times Herculean efforts, the Teutonic Order of Knights carved out an Empire from the Norther Wastelands, against pitiless odds and freezing conditions. These Northern Crusades are expertly analysed by William Urban in a masterful and engaging way. This narrative focuses on the fateful events of the Battle of Grunwold and the subsequent decline of this monumental era through violent conflict; fascinating characters; high octane betrayals; relationships and religious blasphemy, more befitting Game of Thrones than Eastern Europe.
