St Petersburg

The pinnacle of art and culture in Russia, St Petersburg, is one of the country’s most visited destinations and former capital city. Nicknamed the ‘Venice of the North’ due to its elaborate system of canals, the city lies on the Neva River. It is popular with tourists and includes several of Russia’s most famous attractions including the Hermitage Museum, Catherine Palace and the Peterhof.

Kazan is the largest city and capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The city lies at the confluence of the Kazanka and Volga Rivers in the South-East of Russia and was considered a crucial trade and political center from the Late Middle Ages onwards. It has become a popular tourist destination with famous attractions including the Kazan kremlin and Kul Sharif Mosque, known to be one of the largest mosques in Russia.

Golden Ring

The Golden Ring refers to the chain of Medieval towns to the North and East of Moscow including Suzdal, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Rostov, Kostroma, and others. The region is one of Russia’s oldest routes and has become a popular tourist hotspot due to its beautiful landscapes, churches, and ornate architecture. The Golden Ring contains several UNESCO designated sites dating between the 12th and 17th centuries.

Day 8

Begin your Golden Ring tour in Vladimir

After an early morning breakfast, your driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and take you to Vladimir.

Continue your Golden Ring Tour in Suzdal

Later in the afternoon, you will head to Suzdal where you will begin a sightseeing tour that includes a visit to the architectural masterpieces of the Kremlin dating back to the 10th century, the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, and the 13th century Golden Gate. The tour will continue with a visit to the unique Museum of Wooden Architecture, where you will walk along the street with wooden peasant’s houses and old Russian churches of the 16-18th centuries.

Day 9

Exploring the St. Trinity Monastery of St. Serguis of Radonezh in Sergiev Posad

After enjoying a buffet breakfast at the hotel, you will check-out and meet your driver in the hotel lobby for the transfer to Sergiev Posad. In the town there is the largest active monastery in Russia – the St Trinity Monastery. This has been the main pilgrimage center in Russia for more than 600 years, founded by outstanding Russian statesman and the most venerated Russian saint, Sergius of Radonej.
