Itinerary

Moscow

Russia’s official capital, Moscow, is the political and religious heart of the country. The city has the highest density of billionaires, is the world’s most populated inland city and boasts six out of Europe’s ten tallest buildings. It continues to be a major tourist destination in Europe growing year on year with famous attractions including Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, and the Kremlin.

Day 1

Arrival in Moscow

Begin your journey in Moscow! Your driver will pick you up from your scheduled arrival point (airport or railway station), before taking you to your hotel ready for a check-in.

Travel to

Tula

A large city South of Moscow on the banks of the Upa River, Tula is a primarily industrial city founded between the 12th and 14th centuries. The city has a unique heritage as the creator of Pryanik, a special form of gingerbread enjoyed throughout Russia since the 17th century. Tula is known for its Kremlin, the Tula State Museum of Weapons, and for being close to the home of the famous Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy.

Day 2

Visit to a Gingerbread Factory with ‘Make Your Own’ Masterclass

Today you will be heading south of Moscow to the industrial city of Tula. After breakfast, your driver will meet you out outside of your hotel before taking you to Kursky Railway Station. This is where you will take the 2 ½ hour ‘Lastochka’ train journey to Tula.

Day 3

Food tasting experience at Eco-farm

After breakfast you will catch the bus to an eco-farm in a suburban area of Moscow. Here, you will be taken on a tour of the farm where you will get the chance to taste the local produce, before having a full farm-harvested lunch.

Travel to

Kolomna

Kolomna is a popular medieval city just south of Moscow and part of Russia’s Golden Ring. The city dates to the 12th century and is known for its spectacular 16th century red-brick Kremlin built by Russian Tsar, Vasily III. The city has several monasteries, churches, and cathedrals from its early days including the 14th century Church of John the Baptist, which is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the Moscow region.

Day 4

Tour of a Fruit Pastille Production Factory

After breakfast in your hotel, you will meet your guide before taking the 2 ½ hour bus journey to Kolomna. You will start your day with a city tour of Kolomna, here you will visit the historic kremlin followed by a short stop for lunch.

Travel to

Yaroslavl

One of Russia’s medieval capitals founded in the 11th century at the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl rivers by Yaroslav the Wise, a prince of the Kievan Rus. Yaroslavl is the oldest city in the Volga region and is a popular tourist destination on Russia’s Golden Ring. It has been designated UNSECO World Heritage status due to its fascinating architecture and buildings including St. Alexander Nevsky’s Chapel and St. John the Baptist’s Church.

Day 5

Visiting the Ethnographic Salt Museum in Nekrasovskoye

After an early morning breakfast and hotel check-out, your driver will meet you outside the hotel, before taking you to Yaroslavsky Railway Station. Here, you will take the 3-4-hour journey to Yaroslavl before being transferred to Nekrasovskoye, where you will be spending the rest of the day.

Travel to

Pereslavl-Zalessky

A town situated on Lake Pleshcheyevo, northwest of Moscow, Pereslavl-Zalessky was founded in 1152 by Prince Yury Dolgoruky. As one of Russia’s medieval towns, it has become popular with tourists due to its unique museums from the Museum of Kettles to the Museum–Estate “The Little Boat of Peter the Great”. It is host to numerous monasteries, cathedrals, churches including the green-domed Goritsky Monastery and the Assumption Cathedral.

Day 6

Interactive Tour Programme “The Kingdom of Vendace” with Tasting Session

The final day of your Moscow food and drink tour will include an interactive programme at the museum “The Kingdom of Vendace”.

Departure from Moscow
