Visiting Russia visa-free with your World Cup Fan ID

The Kremlin and Red Square, Moscow, Russia

What is a Fan ID?

If you travelled to Russia with an official match ticket for the World Cup, you will have had to apply for a Fan ID. It is the card you were given with your name and photograph on it.

This is what you will need to enter Russia visa-free for the rest of 2018.

What does my Fan ID give me and how do I use it?

Your Fan ID allows you to enter and leave Russia without a visa until 31st December 2018.

To get visa-free access to Russia, you need the following documents:

  1. Your passport; it must be signed, undamaged, and must be valid until at least 30th June 2019.
  2. Your original, laminated Fan ID which you were issued with for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Anyone travelling with a Fan ID holder will have to follow the usual visa rules. To find out if you need a visa to visit Russia, and to apply, click here.

What else do I need to know about using my Fan ID?

You can visit Russia using your Fan ID as many times as you like between now and 31st December 2018.

There is currently no restriction on how long you can stay in Russia during each visit! For example, if you were to enter Russia on 13 August 2018, you could stay until 31st December 2018 if you wished.

However, it is extremely important that you register in each Russian city where you are planning to stay for more than seven days. Registration is done in exactly the same way as registration of a regular Russian visa. More information on how to register can be found in our online registration guide.

Can I still get a Fan ID?

No. Unfortunately, you can no longer get a Fan ID now that the 2018 FIFA World Cup is over.

How can I book my Russian adventure?

Your World Cup Fan ID is longer just a souvenir of your World Cup memories; it now allows you to return to Russia and see all the awe-inspiring sights you missed during the tournament itself.

Real Russia has been making travellers' dream adventures a reality for over 15 years.
